The Roman Theater of Orange was built in the first century.
A class of middle schoolers was at the theater taking turns performing a monologue.
Statue of Augusta - the head of the statue is removable. Thus with each new Roman emperor, new busts were sculpted in Rome and shipped across the empire.

Drive to Mount Ventoux, which has welcomed la Tour de France fourteen times.
Stop in Bédoin for a picnic lunch, then walk around town.

Stop for coffee. Continue the drive.
Drive back through Carpentras.
Back in Orange, pass the post office. Dinner at La Sangeria, a pizzeria.
