15 avril 2011 - Carcassonne

VENDREDI
Mom and Dad had a café au lait at Chez Felix. La Canal du Midi connecting Toulouse and Carcassonne by a series of locks.
Sitting around the fountain in the main square with our picnic lunch: lettuce, tomato, Emmental cheese, and porc pâté.
This street, along with others in Carcassonne, had its name changed. Ancienne means former.
The first city walls of la ville basse of Carcassonne were built by the Romans around 70 BC some of the original bricks still remain after being repaired in the 13th Century.
Walking across le pont neuf (the "new" bridge). Dad sitting along the Aude River and le vieux pont (the old bridge).
A window and street lamp. An amusing intersection.
"No dog" section of Carcassonne (rule not always followed). At the laundrymat.
Dinner.
Walk around the inner ramparts of Carcassonne's walled city.
View of the walled city from le pont neuf.
