14 avril 2011 - Andorra la Vella to Carcassonne

JEUDI
Breakfast at the hotel. Taking our last quick walk around Andorra la Vella.
Stopping at the grocery store to get sandwich making materials for the road.
Looking down at Andorra la Vella nestled in a valley of the Pyrénées. Stopping for gas.
Driving out of Andorra and into France via the Envalira tunnel, which is about 1.5 miles in length.
French border and custom agents concerned if we bought anything in Andorra- prices in Andorra are noticeably less than in France.
Pulling off to the side of the road for a photo op.
Driving on the D119, we take a lunch break in Mirepoix. We found a picnic shelter at the start of a trail head that runs 35km along a former railroad line.
The D119 continued to provide beautiful views during the rest of our drive to Carcassonne.
Circled around Carcassonne before arriving at our hotel.
The hotel room had a nice patio to enjoy the cloudless skies of France.
Located a block away from the hotel is la Cité consisting of the medieval village, castle, and ramparts of Carcassonne.
Mom closes the patio shutters before dinner at La Tour Davejean.
