Avignon.
Palais des Papes (Palace of the Popes). From 1309 to 1377, the Popes took residence in Avignon.

Cross part of the Rhone River to Barthelasse Island from where there is a view of the Palace.
The Saint Bénezet Bridge built between 1171 and 1185 had 22 arches that spanned 2,950 feet across the Rhone. The bridge suffered many collapses due to the flooding of the river. In 1668, Avignon could no longer afford the maintenance of rebuilding the bridge. Today only four spans remain.

From our hotel, we drove into downtown Orange. Parking was a typical amusement.
Arrive at La Cremaillière for dinner. Unfortunately before we arrived we didn't know there was a big party of people who were entertaining themselves with karaoke. We sat outside, but we noticed the power went out inside a couple times during the evening, probably caused by the karaoke. The food took forever to receive and then I was brought the wrong meal. I just took it, because it was not worth trying to get what I ordered.
