The Voie Verte is a pathway that runs south and east of Sarlat. I walked to Carsac, which is the first green dot along the path going down from Sarlat. The path follows a former railroad route that went between Sarlat and Souillac.
I am forever fascinated by the color of the rock and dirt here in Périgord.
I have seen this guy before riding in Sarlat. He has two dogs leashed to the side of the bike and a small bike trailer wheeling behind.Off in the distance on the left is Château de Montfort, a castle along the Dordogne River that has been a target of attack for over the 800 years of its history.
Carscac.
Wandered down a farm road.
On my way back into Sarlat, I was surprised to see a bunch of cars parked along the side of Rue du Stade. It turns out there was a cycling race circling from Sarlat to Daglan and back. Daglan is a small town (population 500) south of Sarlat. The race was 78 km (about 48 miles).
Cyclists riding by as I went down the hill to my abode. Video of cyclists I took from my window.
