The bus arrived in Split around 10am and I walked to my hostel.
Several days before I arrived, Split had a huge celebration commemorating the 100th anniversary of their soccer team and 51st anniversary of the torcida, the supporters group for Hajduk Split. Torcida is the oldest supporters group in Europe. The lingering presence of the celebration was evident around the city via flags, murals, graffiti, etc..
No ice cream, no dogs, no smoking, no cellphones, and no sad faces.
