This is the February lunch menu posted outside École de la Canéda. For today's menu it reads: NOUVEL AN CHINOIS (Chinese New Year), thus the menu was supposedly Chinese cuisine. First course: grated carrots with a cheese/cream sauce. Main course: chicken and mushrooms with perhaps a trace of soy sauce. Dessert: an apple with a stick pushed down the core and dipped into red sugar water. One teacher commented that the meal tasted pretty good, though she wasn’t sure how Chinese it was.

By the evening when I return from teaching, the flow of cars in and out of the tabac parking lot has recommence since the construction work.
