24 mai 2011 - No Lack of Attention given to Sarlat

Time for new plants at the roundabout. 

Zooming in just beyond the roundabout, they are digging up the roadside to lay wires.

The direction of traffic is alternated, because along one lane along Avenue du Lot is open while they dig holes along the side of the road.

The digging continues along Avenue de la Canéda.

It is just after ten in the evening and it is still dusk. The square is rather lively with tourists. It feels like summer with the temperature in the 70s. 

19 mai 2011 - Book voting, Rural walking

JEUDI

Snazzy ride outside an auto repair stop.

At École de la Canéda the third and fourth graders vote for their favorite book that they read this year. Their vote will be added to national results to award the winning book Le Prix des Incorruptibles. The vote was a very official ordeal. 

I take a long route home from school.

 Oui (yes). Exiting the neighborhood of la Canéda.

They are drilling holes and digging everywhere.

28 mars 2011 - street

LUNDI

When I left École Jules Ferry for lunch, there were workers painting new school zone signs on the street.

While home for lunch, shouting from the street below called me to look out the window. Two guys were arguing over a fender bender. I didn't see any damage, but I could hear one guy saying it would cost several hundred euros to repair it. There is a ten minute time elapse between the two photos. Eventually friends of the two guys came over. I saw some kicking. Passing cars were getting annoyed because they were standing in the middle of the street.

Finishing the last bit of power washing along Avenue de la République.

7 mars 2011 - Spring Cleaning

LUNDI

I came home during lunchtime and maintenance workers were planting in the roundabout garden. 

Tools left out while they too enjoyed lunch.

I came back from teaching and the workers were finishing up the last bit of the garden with a rock design.
