29 mai 2011 - Sur La Dordogne

DIMANCHE
Wait for the taxi outside my apartment.
Ride to La Roque-Gagneac.
Rent a canoe and take in the limestone cliffs from the Dordogne River.
The route: La Roque-Gageac to Saint Vincent de Cosse.
A flowering grass blankets the river.
Château de Castelnaud.
Château de Fayrac.
Dragonfly on Erica's paddle.
Château de Beynac.
Pulled ashore after a leisure 9 km (5.6 mile) paddle. Hopped in the shuttle to ride back to La Roque.
Back in La Roque we enjoy a picnic lunch in the shade.
Begin the walk back to Sarlat.
Réserve de chasse (Reserved for hunting). Réserve de Repeuplement (Reserve for repopulation).

Walking through Vitrac I randomly pass the home and workshop of one of my colleagues who is a tourneur sur bois (woodworker). Erica and I stop to chat and see his work.
Cannot escape the limestone.
Wild rabbits hopping through the field.
Approaching "civilization"... off in the distance I see le pontet- the train viaduct.
Back to my abode, we enjoy salmon sauce pasta with a salad.
