Les journées du terroir is a two day festival that celebrates the local traditions and flare of Sarlat. Farm animals have been brought in and fill the medieval center of the city. Erica and I take a walk around and take in the atmosphere.
There are vendors selling local products.
The MC interviews a vendor and it is broadcasted all over town thanks to the PA speakers everywhere.
Là est l'historial (there is the history museum).
At noon we head to the train station to catch a bus to Souillac. The bus fits through narrow streets.
There is a good two hour wait in Souillac for the connection to Toulouse. We leave our bags at the station and take a walk.
We eat lunch along the Dordogne River. Somehow it doesn't shock me when we see a family walking along the trail with two donkeys accompanying them.
Back at the station we catch the train to Toulouse.
Arrive in Toulouse and head toward the hostel.
Pardon...
Graffiti. The hostel.
The weather is drippy as we walk around Toulouse.
I love this photo for several reasons: the corner street is Rue de Périgord, the red lizard monster graffitied on the building, the plants on the window seal, the London sign...The Occitan symbol. More graffiti.
